According to Cointelegraph, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s social media account has been hacked, resulting in victims losing $691,000 to malicious links. In a September 10 post, Dmitry Buterin, Vitalik’s father, confirmed that his son’s account had been compromised and that he was working on restoring access.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has been actively informing his 438,200 followers about the hacker’s actions, which have led to the illicit draining of $691,000 from Buterin’s followers through malicious links. As a result of this incident, a user on the platform claimed to have suffered losses to their crypto punks NFT collection. The current minimum price for a Cryptopunk NFT is 46.99 Ethereum (ETH), which is approximately equivalent to $76,837. This is a developing story, and further information will be added as it becomes available.
