According to CryptoPotato, Elon Musk is exploring the idea of creating a social media platform based on blockchain technology, which may include payment systems. This information comes from an exclusive excerpt of Musk’s biography, written by Isaacson. The biography delves into Musk’s controversial decision to acquire Twitter and also discusses the potential future of Dogecoin (DOGE), a cryptocurrency that has piqued Musk’s interest.

After Musk’s acquisition of Twitter stock became public, he held a private dinner meeting with Twitter’s CEO, Parag Agrawal. While Musk appreciated Agrawal’s personality, he expressed doubts about his leadership style, stating that Twitter needs a ‘fire-breathing dragon’ and that Agrawal is not that. The following day, Musk discussed the idea of a blockchain-based social media platform with his brother, Kimbal, during a lunch meeting.

Musk was intrigued by the idea and even considered incorporating Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency he has been supporting, as a payment option for the platform. He later texted Kimbal, elaborating on the concept of a blockchain social media system that integrates both payments and short text messages, similar to Twitter. Musk recently clarified that he would not launch a native token on the platform, but whether he will implement payments using DOGE remains to be seen.
